Virginia Zeani & Nicola Rossi Lemeni i Puritani "O amato zio".

Описание к видео Virginia Zeani & Nicola Rossi Lemeni i Puritani "O amato zio".

VIrginia Zeani joins her husband Nicola Rossi Lemeni, singing the role of her uncle Sir George Walton, in the first Act duet from I Puritani. He gives her the good news that her beloved Arturo, a Cavalier, and in theory an enemy of the Puritans, will be given a safe conduct so that they can marry.

Zeani and Rossi Lemeni first met very briefly in a performance of i Puritani in Florence, when she replaced Maria Meneghini Callas in the role of Elvira. Again like Callas, she learned the role in two days at the behest of the legendary conductor Tullio Serafin. It became one of her great early successes.

This performance is from a live radio concert in Torino with the Orchestra Sinfonico di Torino della RAI, conducted by Fulvio Vernizzi on 10 November 1958.
