Should spiritual matters be handled by the police, or should they be resolved within the church as Scripture teaches?
Jesus Christ and the apostles were insulted, persecuted, accused, and attacked with words—yet they endured. Even on the cross, in His final breath, Jesus said: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”
As a spiritual leader and father, Apostle Grace Lubega Matovu, was this matter not meant to be settled in love, correction, and restoration before involving worldly systems? Scripture calls us first to reconcile, to talk, to correct in love—before taking further measures.
Yes, harsh words may have been spoken. Yes, pain may have been caused. But should words divide the church and send a brother to prison, when Christ calls us to forgiveness and grace?
The law exists—but should it govern spiritual disagreements, just as the Pharisees used the law to silence and crucify Jesus?
This is a humble call to reflection, love, and reconciliation.
Apostle Grace Lubega, may you find it in your heart to forgive Jamil Mugerwa, believing that correction has already taken place. Let words not destroy us, but strengthen us as the body of Christ.
As Scripture says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16​​​).
May the church choose grace over punishment, restoration over division, and love over pride.
