Live Load Distribution - Part One

The SSSBA presents a topic based video series on short span steel bridges.

In this series, Dr. Gregory Michaelson (Co-Director, SSSBA Bridge Technology Center & Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering at Marshall University) discusses live load distribution for short span steel bridges. Note, this is part one of the lecture – part two will be posted in April 2021.

The goals of this lecture are:
- To provide an overview of vehicular live loads for bridge design.
- To discuss structural analysis and live load distribution for bridge design.

The outline of the lecture is as follows:
- Loads on bridges and AASHTO live load models
- Structural analysis (Longitudinal distribution & Transverse distribution)
