1964 Mack C-600 walkaround review & drive (if it will start...)

Описание к видео 1964 Mack C-600 walkaround review & drive (if it will start...)

This truck has mostly become lawn art in my yard and has not run in two years, but it has a story to tell. Watch the video and learn more about this obscure model of Mack truck (C-600 series) that was only offered from 1963 to 1965.

The C-600 series, the closest to a COE in a conventional cab!

1964 Mack C-600 specifications:
Four model number C-series were available:
607-models had a 673 cubic inch inline 6 diesel engine,
609-models had a 711 cubic inch inline 6 diesel engine,
611-models had a turbocharged 673 cubic inch inline 6 diesel engine and 615-models had a 864 cubic inch V8 diesel engine.

This truck is a 1964 C-609LST, therefor has a 711 engine but with the addition of a turbocharger, which may have been added on years later.
The letter 'L' following the model number apparently refers to it having the optional Lightweight component parts made of aluminum. The remaining letters 'ST' specify it as a tandem axle (six-wheel) truck.
It was sold new to Petroleum Resources Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota as a semi-tractor, possibly for the transport of propane. This was the first of 15 identical trucks purchased by said company.

Total production breakdown for all models and years of this truck:
C-607 (1963-65) 301 total built
C-609 (1963-65) 1,064 total built
C-611 (1963-65) 16 total built
C-615 (1963-65) 208 total built
(No production breakdown for single axle/tandem axle trucks, nor breakdown for trucks with the 'L' lightweight components option.)

Grand total: 1,589 total for all years combined
