How Many Pokémon Are Eligible For Pokémon Crystal's Level 10 Battle Tower?

Описание к видео How Many Pokémon Are Eligible For Pokémon Crystal's Level 10 Battle Tower?

Previously, I made a video based on Pokemon Stadium's Pika Cup and how many Pokemon were eligible for it, and now, a semi-sequel of sorts has arrived for generation 2.

Pokemon Crystal introduced the now infamous Battle Tower to the series, however this original incarnation was different from what we've come to know and, er...

This one allows you to use any of the (then) 251 Pokemon, including Mewtwo, Mew, Ho-oh, Lugia and Celebi.

But because this was back before they apparently had the ability to temporarily lower your Pokemon's levels to 50 for the battles, this battle tower only allows you to enter teams with levels in increments of ten: 100, 90, 80 and so on, all the way down to 10.

This is even lower than the level 15 to 20 requirement for the Pika Cup, and as such, you'll probably automatically write off even more Pokemon from having any chance of entering.

Well, that's where this video comes in. I'm curious to find out the exact number and use (almost) all means necessary to do so.

But before we get started, I'd like to set a few rules and guidelines.

- Firstly, and most obviously, no alterations through the use of cheat devices will count. I don't think I need to explain why.

- Any Pokemon that can be obtained at least level 10 will be considered eligible, but I'll try to find them all at the lowest levels possible.

- This time, any game from generation 1 and 2 is allowed to be considered in order to fulfill my goal. This is because generation 2 was clearly designed with generation 1 connectivity in mind, since some Pokemon cannot be obtained in gen 2 at all otherwise.

- Pokemon that can only be obtained at level 10 through the use of glitches will not count. I'd rather not count anything that wasn't meant to be in the game to begin with.

And one final note before we begin. With the addition of breeding in generation 2, it's now easy-peasy to obtain any first stage Pokemon from a line that can breed.

Just stick them in the center with Ditto, then hatch the egg to get said Pokemon's first form at... level 5? It's just been born, yet it's a higher level than some Pokemon you find in the wild? Try not to think about it too much.

Anyway, for any Pokemon that can be obtained this way, I'll just pass over them quickly with "Breed it" before moving onto the next form/Pokemon. Got it? Alright then, let's go!
