TEDxYouth@NIS | Why innovation is a powerful tool for youth | Anneliese Gegenheimer | TEDxYouth@NIS

Anneliese is currently a graduate student at the Johns Hopkins Hopkins-Nanjing Center studying international relations and focused on energy, resources, and the environment. She is a former consultant for IBM and the founder of the Chicago Student Invention Convention, a nationally recognized program in the US that empowers elementary and middle school students to solve problems through invention. She has also started invention and girls education programs in Tanzania and India. In her talk, Anneliese will share the power of youth invention and how we all play a role in fostering problem-solving and creativity to empower our future leaders and innovators.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations). TEDxYouth@NIS is happening on March 3rd, 2018 at Nanjing International School. Our goal is to provide a platform where the people of Nanjing can share their ideas worth spreading in either English or Mandarin.
