Ohio taxpayers must file an Ohio Form IT-1040 individual income tax return. Form IT-1040 is required for Ohio residents, part year residents, and nonresidents of Ohio that have Ohio source income.

In this example, we have an Ohio part-year resident tax return. The taxpayer started the 2022 tax year living and working in Ohio, and then moved to Florida during the year. The Ohio return requires the Ohio Schedule IT NRC to apportion income between Ohio and non-Ohio sources.
