🎶 Hannes Vonmetz – Percussionist | Marimba | Drummer 🥁

Hannes Vonmetz (born 2004 in Brixen, South Tyrol, Italy) is a passionate percussionist pushing the boundaries of rhythm and melody. Since 2023, he has been studying in the soloist class of Prof. Simone Rubino at the Berlin University of the Arts. Previously, he studied at the Claudio Monteverdi Conservatory in Bolzano under Prof. Gianmaria Romanenghi.

🏆 Award-Winning Musician
From an early age, Hannes has excelled in international competitions such as the Universal Marimba Competition (Belgium) and the EBBC (Malmö). He has earned numerous accolades, including distinctions at the South African Marimba and Steelpan Festival and the American Classical Young Musician Award. In 2022, he was the first European to win third prize at the Australian Marimba Competition. To date, he has received 13 national and international competition prizes and multiple special awards.

🎼 Performances & Collaborations
Hannes made his recital debut at the Berlin Philharmonie (2024) in front of 1,400 listeners. In September 2025, he will return to the Philharmonie to present his debut project, The Latin America Project, featuring four commissioned works by Christian Pérez Bachmann, Iván-Manuel Tapia Bruno, Pablo Boetsch, and Carlo Tosato.

He has collaborated with leading composers such as Prof. Dr. Oliver Korte and Prof. Peter Wittrich and has performed at prestigious festivals. Since 2023, he has been a scholarship recipient of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Berlin e.V., and since 2024, he has also been supported by Freunde junger Musiker Berlin e.V.. His chamber music performances include appearances with Simone Rubino at the Concert Association of Bolzano and at the Neues Palais in Potsdam.
