Deploy a Scalable RStudio Cluster on GCP with Active Directory and Filestore using Terraform and Packer

In this video, we extend the original GCP mini-AD lab by building a scalable RStudio Cluster environment. Instead of a single RStudio instance, this project uses Terraform and Packer to provision a load-balanced cluster of RStudio servers, all integrated with Active Directory for authentication and backed by Google Cloud Filestore for shared storage.

What You’ll Learn

Build custom RStudio images with Packer (R, RStudio, and system libraries pre-installed)
Provision a GCP Global HTTP(S) Load Balancer and Managed Instance Group (MIG) for high availability
Scale the cluster dynamically based on CPU utilization thresholds
