We attach the tool directly to the meter so it is there when we need it. It may not be wise for you to do that depending on where you live and the security surrounding your meter. You could also place it on the ground near the meter in a Ziplock bag and cover it with a little dirt or bark so it is still handy, but not visible to anyone. In a true emergency every second counts. Having the right tool handy could make a big difference.
