What Makes a Wheelhouse TRULY Oceanworthy - Rebuilding Schooner Tijgerhaai EP18

EP18 - An Oceangoing sailing ship needs an Oceanworthy Wheelhouse. Apart from stormproof doors and strong windows, the interior layout of the wheelhouse is very important. It must be practical, comfortable and able to handle the roughest seas. In this video we finalize the layout design and finish all the steelworks inside the wheelhouse. After that it we install all the windows, so that the wheelhouse is fully watertight.

Schoener Tijgerhaai (Tigershark) started life in 1944 as a canadian built tugboat and she has been in my family for almost 50 years. Together with my dad, I am rebuilding this beautiful sailing ship, to make her ready for new adventures!
