A NEW Ford Capri? THIS is a Capri!

I don't want to come off all old guy get off my lawn, but seeing all this news about the all new 2024 Ford Capri or 2025 Ford Capri, whenever it comes out, got my blood pressure up! Surely, Ford wouldn't do this to us again would they? After the Ford Mustang Mach E, they wouldn't do the same thing to the Capri right? The legendary European Mustang? Awwww come on Ford!

Unfortunately this is an automotive trend we are seeing across many brands, taking old legendary loved name plates, taking some horrible cross over, SUV, or some other thing, and using that name purely for marketing purposes. The Mark I Ford Capri is a small, light weight, (usually) rear wheel drive, 2 door, affordable sports car. The NEW Ford Capri is a big, heavy, electric, 4 door, expensive, crossover? What in the world are they thinking?

As I guess, a member of the Automotive Press, this is Automotive News, and it's NOT good news. Dodge did it with the new Dodge Dart. Mitsubishi did it with the new Eclipse, and now Ford is doubling down with the new Capri. Are American Manufacturers no longer building cool cars because we aren't buying them? Or are we not buying them, because they are no longer building them?
