Notes:
SBB remains one of the seminal bands in the history of the Polish rock. Since 1971 they have played thousands of gigs across the globe, sharing the stage with The Mahavishnu Orchestra, Charles Mingus, Bob Marley, The Soft Machine, Collosseum II, and Elton John -- to mention only a few of the world's most renowned artists. The three original SBB members (Józef Skrzek, Apostolis Anthimos, Jerzy Piotrowski) were the first Polish group to perform at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark (1978). The band's prolific output encompasses over a dozen albums recorded in Poland, Germany, and Czechoslovakia. A number of these, including „Pamięć" (1975), „Welcome" (1978) and „Memento z banalnym tryptykiem" (1980), are considered to be among the finest progressive rock recordings ever made in Europe. Since the beginning of their career the musicians have co-operated with many legendary figures of the Polish rock (Czesław Niemen, Halina Frąckowiak) and jazz scene (Tomasz Stańko, Tomasz Szukalski). Proclaimed the best rock trio since The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Cream, SBB have earned widespread critical acclaim throughout Europe and beyond.
After years of hiatus the band returned in the nineties, later on joining forces with Paul Wertico (ex-Pat Metheny Group) who would replace Piotrowski on drums. Presently the band still records and gigs on a regular basis. Józef Skrzek (key, bg) and Apostolis Anthimos (g) are joined on stage and in the studio by a panoply of talented guest drummers of both Polish (Irek Głyk, Krzysztof Dziedzic) and international origin (Paul Wertico, Gábor Németh -ex-Locomotiv GT, ex-Skorpio).
SBB gigs feature a variety of material covering the band's long and fruitful career, enhanced with ever-fresh improvisations and Skrzek's masterly solos delivered on the analogue Minimoog synthesizer. The group never fails to grasp an audience, be it in medium-size theatres or during large-scale open-air festivals (back in 2006 at the Baja Prog Festival in Mexico SBB were supported by Marillion!). Enjoy!!!
