The Best Ski Resort You've Never Heard Of - Baldy Mountain Resort

Baldy Mountain Resort is a hidden gem and is home to some of the best powder skiing in British Columbia. It’s somewhat of a secret and is tucked away near Oliver, a small town in Southern BC. At 1,726m Baldy has the highest base altitude of any ski resort in Canada and the proper summit (which is skiable with a small hike) towers over the Okanagan Valley at 2,310m. That’s even higher than 7th Heaven in Whistler Blackcomb. This means, you’ll be skiing cold, dry champagne powder most days out of the season. Even though the visibility was low, the snow was nuking and Baldy absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. The mixed terrain is an absolute blast and the glades are world class. Other than the snow, my favourite part was the amount of natural features packed into all of the runs and I can’t forget the immaculate vibes, all the staff and people I met were amazing. Also, lift lines don't exist at places like this. Ski on, ski off, all day long. Baldy is also building an awesome terrain park this season with leadership from transition industries and is offering night skiing. Baldy Mountain resort is super affordable and there is accommodation in the Baldy village or in the town of Oliver. Baldy is definitely one for the bucket list!
