How To Pack Fragile Items For Shipping

Here are some tips on how to pack fragile items like wine glasses and china figures. After will drop test the packages so we can see how well they will hold up in shipping.


Key Points When Shipping a delicate Item:
Never be afraid of using too much bubble wrap.

USPS and Fedex will only cover your package if you have a few inches of room on all sides.

Make sure the box is durable, stiff thick cardboard is best. You don't need to get special fragile shipping boxes.

Double box the item if it is particularly sentimental or valuable.

If an item has small delicate parts be extra careful when you are handling it and use cardboard to support those particular parts if possible.

If you can't put cardboard directly on the item you're packing you can wrap it in bubble wrap and then place the cardboard on top of that to protect it. (If you would like to see a video demonstrating this packing technique comment below.)
