In this vlog, we take a trip to York, one of the least Muslim-populated cities in the UK. Join me as I explore the historic city and share my experience as a Muslim in a place where Islamic culture is hard to find. We start our journey by visiting the famous Great Wall of York, a reminder of the city’s rich history. Our next stop is the Minster of York, a stunning cathedral with a £20 per person entry fee, which I found quite expensive. I discuss the high costs of visiting major attractions in York and how it affects the overall experience of exploring the city.

Afterward, we make our way to the Shambles Market, a vibrant area in the heart of York. We even stop by the popular Harry Potter shop while wandering through the market stalls. Throughout the day, I search for Islamic shops and halal food places in the city, trying to see what York has to offer for Muslim travelers.

We also visit the Central Mosque of York, a small but important place for the Muslim community in this city. It was a unique experience to find a mosque in a city with such a small Muslim population, and I share my thoughts on what it’s like being a Muslim here. Later, we explore York Castle and reflect on our journey through this historic city.

As the day comes to an end, we catch the train back home, only to be delayed and arriving late. I share my final thoughts on York, talking about what it’s like visiting this low Muslim-population city as a Muslim and whether I would recommend it to others.
