Sputtering Yamaha Outboard Fixed | How to replace a High Pressure Fuel Pump on a V6 Yamaha Outboard

F225, F200, and F250 Yamaha or Mercury's that were made by Yamaha four strokes tend to start to develop what appears to be a miss or a sputter that won't allow them to accelerate under load enough to plane out, most of the time it's due to the high pressure pump going bad, or the high pressure pump screen getting a bunch of contaminates on it to where it can't get push enough fuel through the system under a load. This is a relatively easy fix for anyone. The filters is what most everyone recommends but, every time I have this issue its either the fuel pump has gone bad or someone has let their boat sit for a while and the fuel breaks down and causes the VST screen on the high pressure pump to get clogged up and become under powered.

Tools needed are 10mm socket and about a 4-5 inch extension, channel lock pliers or needle nose pliers, carb cleaner, Philip screw driver, and a flat head screw driver.

This should be close to or about the same process for Yamaha 225 Fourstrokes, Yamaha 200 Fourstrokes, and Yamaha 250 fourstrokes. ( I haven't done any Yamaha 150's or smaller so Im not sure if they have the same looking set up or not.

The part # for the pump I replaced was 69J-13907-03-00
