Getting off of the typical tourist trail brings some pretty incredible experiences. We fell in love with these two countries located in South America, though neither of them speak Spanish. We were expecting Latin America, but fell in love with the sound of Dutch, Indonesian and Indian food, Afrobeat music and Caribbean vibes.
This area of the world has a very impressive history, a colorful culture, fascinating people and the world's biggest tarantula (the Goliath Bird-Eating Spider)!
I hope to never forget our days swimming in the Amazon, eating way too much roti, and learning from the Guyanese and Surinamese people.
