Mainland to Advance Countermeasures to Every Secessionist Provocation Till Reunification: Spokesman

The mainland will advance its countermeasures one step further in response to each provocation of 'Taiwan independence' separatist forces until the complete reunification of the motherland is realized, said a spokesman for China's Ministry of National Defense on Friday.

Senior Colonel Wu Qian, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, made the remarks in responding to a media query on U.S. military officials' claims that the joint military drills around Taiwan conducted by the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) heightened tensions across the Taiwan Strait and were worrisome.
