​🏔️ NEW YEAR AT 12,500 FT: Kedarkantha Summit & Surprise Snowfall!

​There’s no better way to kick off January 1, 2026, than standing on a Himalayan peak. This vlog covers the final, most dramatic leg of our Kedarkantha journey—from a dry, starlit summit push to a midnight snow that transformed our entire world.

​The Journey Breakdown:
​Day 3: The Final Ascent to Basecamp 🌲
We moved from the Hargaon clearing up to the Kedarkantha Basecamp. The air was crisp, the energy was high, and the anticipation for the New Year’s summit was peaking. We spent the evening of December 31st prepping our gear and catching a few hours of sleep before the big midnight push.

​Day 4: January 1, 2026 – The Midnight Summit Push
At 2:00 AM on New Year's Day, we began our trek under a canopy of stars. It was a steep, rugged climb to the top. Interestingly, the summit was completely dry—no snow at the peak—which gave us incredibly sharp, 360-degree views of Swargarohini, Black Peak, and Bandarpoonch as the first sunrise of 2026 broke over the horizon.
​The Plot Twist: After descending back to the Hargaon campsite, the weather finally shifted. Just as we settled in for our first night of the year, the snowfall began, turning our camp into a winter wonderland while we slept.

​Day 5: The Snowy Farewell to the Mountains ❄️
We woke up on January 2nd to a complete transformation—Hargaon was buried in fresh powder! We made our final descent from Hargaon to Kotgaon, trekking through the freshly light snow-covered pine forests. From Kotgaon, it was a long, reflective drive back to Dehradun, marking the end of an epic start to 2026.
