Hundreds of protesters gathered in Stockholm to condemn Israel’s attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla and the detention of over four hundred seventy activists from more than fifty countries. Demonstrators marched from Odenplan Square to the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, holding Palestinian flags and banners demanding freedom for Palestine and an end to the blockade of Gaza. Activists accused Israel of targeting civilians and urged the Swedish government to speak out. Aydın Amir Hashimi, a Swedish activist of Azerbaijani origin, called the flotilla raid unacceptable and condemned ongoing violence in Gaza. The Global Sumud Flotilla had been attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza when Israeli forces seized its vessels in international waters.
