Home Assistant Automation can be a mystery for some people. Whether it be the GUI; the automations.yaml file; how to perform simple tasks such as turning a light on or they are just looking for a Home Assistant Automation Tutorial, this series is hoping to cover

This first video will cover the basics of what makes up an automation in Home Assistant and it will take you through a moderate example which will look at a way that you could possibly get your family up in a morning if you had all the right equipment. I don't have all the equipment to do all this example. I would love a Z-Wave smart lock or a smart thermostat etc. So in these cases, I have done some basic research and come up with an example I believe would work.

I envisage a comment or two about why my example is not workable because equipment A needs a certain piece of data etc, but the point of the video is to provide a Home Assistant Automation example that could 'possibly' work and to inspire others to think of the possibilities they have with the equipment they already have.

VIDEO NOTES:
I am afraid to say I do not like this video. It actually took 4 takes before I had a version that I was able to edit and produce well enough to get this final product. As you may be able to tell. I am still having lighting issues as I have no budget to work with.
I also need to work on my camera in front of the camera so that I don't have to cut and change mid-sentence, this is very annoying and it looks unprofessional.
I am aware, however, that as a beginner my work will not be to a standard that I am happy with, and nor should I be. I look forward to creating valuable content for the Home Assistant and the Home Automation communities in general. My work is getting better with each video as each and every edit I do is a constant learning process.
