Blade Night (Skatenight), Munich - Germany Travel Channel

The Blade Night Munich is Europe's biggest night skate event.
In good weather, thousands of skaters meet from May to September on Mondays at 21:00. The first event takes place on the first Monday in May.
Since 1999, the event is organized by the association Green City and the department of sports of the City of Munich.
During the event the streets will be closed for traffic. The rollerbladers can choose between different routes and difficulty levels. At first the spectators can only hear the dull rumble of the skaters until up to 10000 in-line skaters finally roll by. This can last over half an hour.

Die Blade Night München ist Europas größtes Nacht-Skate-Event.
Bei gutem Wetter treffen sich von Mai bis September Tausende von Skatern jeweils montags um 21:00. Die erste Veranstaltung findet am ersten Montag im Mai statt.
Seit 1999 wird die Veranstaltung vom Verein Green City e.V und dem Sportreferat der Stadt München durchgeführt.
Dabei werden Straßenzüge für tausende Skater gesperrt, die zwischen unterschiedlichen Strecken und Schwierigkeitsgraden wählen können. Anfangs ist nur das dumpfe Grollen der Skater zu hören, bis schließlich bis zu 10000 Inlineskater vorbeirollen. Dies kann über eine halbe Stunde dauern.
Übrigens, bei der Blade Night München wird Sicherheit groß geschrieben!
