In the catastrophic floods of Uttarakhand in 2013, a mysterious force, miraculously, saved Kedarnath Temple and devotees from death and destruction, in the form of a Huge Boulder later named as "Bhim Shila." This is the Untold Story of Lord Shiva and the Miraculous events at Kedarnathand and history of Kedarnath Temple—a live example with proof of Miracles of Lord Shiva.
On 16 June 2013, there was a severe flood in Kedarnath. Because of heavy rain, Chorabari glacier melted, and the entire water came down due to the strong current and added to Mandakini river flood and flooded many villages and places, heading towards Kedarnath temple. Seeing this scene, all the pilgrims went into the temple. The temple was also under threat. Mysteriously, a large Boulder was seen suddenly in the lake, which was not like the other boulders that added to the flood. The Huge boulder was coming towards the temple along with the flood at high speed and would have damaged the temple in a big way, but suddenly the rock stopped nearly 50 feet away from the Temple as if it was stopped by some Mysterious invisible force. Due to that rock, the strong water of the flood was cut in two and flowed out from both sides of the temple. During that time, around 300 to 500 people were sitting in the shelter of Lord Shiva.
Still, it's a Big Mystery of Lord Shiva that how a boulder of that huge size, which was different from other rocks of flood, and in similar size of width of the temple, joined the flood and Mysteriously Stopped at safe distance from temple and blocked and diverted the flood and other boulders saving the temple and devotees.
It is a real miracle with live proof of its existence in modern times, it is Lord Shiva's glory and miracle that the temple and devotees were saved with some out of the world event that cannot be explained.
The rock is worshipped by devotees visiting Kedarnath and its names as "Bhim Shila"
In the Dwadas Jyotirlinga of India, in the middle of the snowy mountain ranges situated in the northern part of Rudraprayag , the frontier district of Uttarakhand, Jyotirlinga is known as Sri Kedar Ekadash and being situated in the Himalayas this is paramount among all Jyotirlingas.
It is believed that this temple has been constructed by the Pandavas after the Mahabharata period. It is undisputed truth that this huge temple about 80 feet high has a beautiful display of architecture. The stones used in the temple are local which are carved and the shape of the temple is quadrangular. Lord Shiva's self-proclaimed Jyotirlinga exists in the form of a large rock in the Garva Grah of the temple.
It is located in the Rudra Himalaya range of Uttarakhand State. It is situated at an altitude of 3,581 mt & it is a 16 km trek from the nearest place of Gaurikund.
As per shiva purana,The origin of Kedarnath temple can be traced to the great epic - Mahabharata. According to legends, after winning the battle of Mahabharata against the Kauravas, the Pandavas sought blessings of Lord Shiva to atone their sins of Killing men during the war. Lord Shiva eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing from them took refuge at Kedarnath in form of a bull. On being followed by the Pandavas, he dived into ground at the exact place where the Holy Sanctum is now present, leaving behind his hump on the floor surface, which is now visible. This Hump inside the temple is in the form of a conical rock formation and is worshipped as Lord Shiva manifested in his Sadashiva form.
