Hey loves! Okay, so today I’m going to tackle one of the topics that I know a lot of you struggle with--how to find the best foundation match for your skin tone! It seems like everyone from makeup beginners to experienced beauty lovers has a bit of difficulty with this, but I’m here to share a few tips with you on how to find that perfect foundation match! First, you should find your undertone. There are lots of ways to do this, from determining the color of the veins on your wrist, looking at if you wear gold or silver jewelry, or whether or you tend to burn or tan. Finding your undertone will give you a good idea of what foundations to shop for, since most foundations are designed for warm, cool, or neutral skin tones. With this in mind, you should go pick out three foundations that you think will work for you. Your foundation should match your overall body tone, not just your head or neck. When testing each one, swatch it from your chin down to the base of your neck so that you can see if it matches your chest. Blend each one in on the edges and see if one disappears into your skin. If it does, this is your foundation match! But before deciding that this is the foundation for you, wear it for at least an hour to see if it oxidizes. Oxidation causes your foundation to get darker. If it becomes too dark, test one shade lighter. Since everyone has a unique skin tone, you might not be able to find a foundation that matches you perfectly.
