Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus
And today we are going to meditate on a title
🤴 ISRAEL’S FIRST KING – SAUL’S CALLING AND CONSECRATION 🤴

🌾 1. GOD’S PLAN IN ORDINARY PATHS – The Search for Donkeys (1 Samuel 9)
Sometimes God’s greatest purposes begin in the most ordinary circumstances.
Saul, a young man from the tribe of Benjamin, set out to find his father’s missing donkeys. To others, it seemed like a simple family duty—but to God, it was a divine appointment.
On his journey, Saul met Samuel the prophet, who had already heard from the Lord that a young man from Benjamin would be sent to him to be anointed as king.
Through this unexpected event, God was guiding Saul’s steps toward his destiny.
🪔 Lesson:
When you walk faithfully in small responsibilities, God uses them as stepping stones toward your greater calling. Even your search for “lost donkeys” can lead to your divine purpose.

🕊 2. THE ANOINTING OF SAUL – Chosen and Empowered (1 Samuel 10)
Samuel took a vial of oil and poured it upon Saul’s head, declaring him as Israel’s first king. This was not a man’s choice—it was God’s selection.
The oil represented the Holy Spirit’s empowerment. Samuel also gave Saul several confirming signs to assure him that the Lord was with him.
Yet, when Saul was presented to the people, he hid himself among the baggage—revealing his humility and perhaps his fear.
This shows that true leadership begins not with pride, but with humility before God.
🔥 Lesson:
God’s anointing is never for self-glory—it’s for service. When God calls you, He also equips you. Your confidence should rest not in your position, but in the presence of the Holy Spirit within you.

⚔️ 3. THE FIRST VICTORY – Spirit-Empowered Leadership (1 Samuel 11)
Soon after Saul’s anointing, a crisis arose: the people of Jabesh-Gilead were threatened by the cruel Ammonite king Nahash.
When Saul heard of their distress, the Spirit of God came upon him mightily. He rallied Israel, united the tribes, and led them to a decisive victory.
After the triumph, Samuel gathered the people at Gilgal, and there they confirmed Saul as king and rejoiced before the Lord.
This victory was not merely Saul’s success—it was the evidence that God’s Spirit empowers His chosen servants to deliver His people.
🕯 Lesson:
When God’s Spirit fills you, fear turns into faith, weakness into strength, and hesitation into bold action. True leadership is not human ambition—it is divine empowerment to serve and to save.

❤️ 4. LIFE LESSONS FROM SAUL’S BEGINNING
💠 God’s call often comes through ordinary events. Trust His invisible hand guiding your life.
💠 Humility attracts God’s anointing. Stay small in your eyes, even when God lifts you high.
💠 The Holy Spirit empowers for purpose. Without Him, leadership is empty.
💠 Victory belongs to God. When we obey and act in faith, His power works through us to bless others.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for showing us through the life of Saul that You choose and prepare Your servants in Your perfect timing. Teach us to recognize Your hand in our daily paths and to walk humbly before You. Anoint us with Your Spirit so we may serve You faithfully and courageously. May every victory in our lives bring glory to Your name alone.
