Aghora Mantra

अघोरेभ्योऽथ घोरेभ्यो अघोरघोरेतरेभ्यः।
सर्वतः शर्वः सर्वेभ्यो नमस्ते रुद्र रूपेभ्यः॥

aghorebhyo’tha ghorebhyo aghoraghoretarebhyaḥ
sarvataḥ śarvaḥ sarvebhyo namaste rudra rūpebhyaḥ

The Aghor mantra is a powerful Hindu mantra that is often used in Aghori practices, which are a form of Tantric sadhana. The Aghori sadhus are known for their unconventional ways of worship and their association with the deity Shiva.

This mantra is chanted to invoke the fierce and terrifying form of Shiva known as Aghora. Aghora is considered to be the embodiment of pure consciousness, beyond the duality of good and evil.

The first part of the mantra, "Om Aghorebhyo’tha ghorebhyo", is an invocation to both the Aghora and Ghora aspects of Shiva. The Aghora aspect represents the pure and blissful nature of consciousness, while the Ghora aspect represents the terrifying and destructive aspect of Shiva.

The second part of the mantra, "ghora ghor-tarebhyo swaha", is an offering to both the Ghora and Ghora-tara aspects of Shiva. The Ghora-tara aspect represents the transcendence of the terrifying aspects of Shiva, and the attainment of spiritual liberation.

The Aghor mantra is a powerful tool for invoking the divine power of Shiva, and for transcending the duality of good and evil. It is said to bring about spiritual transformation and liberation for those who chant it with devotion and sincerity.
