In this video, we look over some of the most dangerous concepts in chess openings for black including the Modern Defense, Pirc Defense, Czech Pirc Defense, and Hippopotamus Defense. These openings may be slightly different, but have many similarities in terms of overall chess opening ideas, chess opening strategy, and chess opening principles. We look to cover both Hippopotamus Defense ideas in addition to Modern Defense/Pirc Defense type positions that may arise. The goal of this video is not to tell you exactly how to play a certain chess opening. Instead, it is to give you options in terms of how you want to approach the game of chess. Some may want to stick with a Hippopotamus Defense approach. Others may venture into more of a Tiger's Modern Defense or Pirc Defense setup. And finally, others may go for a mix of both.
