Have you ever experienced being out in public and a guitar makes it into your hands, but instead of playing it - you froze? No need to worry, we’ve all experienced this. In this lesson, I’m going to help you deal with the times when you’re at a party (or testing a guitar at a music store) and you feel like you’ve gone numb - without being able to play anything.

To help you with never freezing up, I’ve taken a simple approach that includes some really cool ‘open string’ turnaround licks. These licks are both easy to play and they also work perfectly to connect chords.

I’ve placed the lesson’s turnaround licks into one of the most popular keys on guitar - the key of “G.” Plus, (along with the turnaround licks), I’ve also included a way to integrate them with chords from a key using some, “Hybrid” picking.”

The lesson explores how to start playing and using these “open-string turnaround licks,” in one of guitar’s most popular keys, (G Major). I’ve composed 3 open-string licks, with them using the 2nd through to 4th open strings.

To spice things up (plus help you get the notes to really stand out), I’m going to show you how to play these licks using some “Hybrid” picking. Be sure to stick with me right till the end, because I’m going to give you a few extra tips on how to add the key’s “IV and V” chords of “C & G” Major into the mix.
