Most everyone knows someone affected by Parkinson's disease; despite decades of research, the disease remains uncured. In his talk, Jeremiah Pate delves into a non-traditional solution for Parkinson's disease. By redesigning the proteins within our bodies, it may be possible to use our own defenses to defeat Parkinson's. Despite its unlikely beginnings this research my lay foundations that could one day lead to a cure for Parkinson's. Jeremiah Pate is a perpetual entrepreneur, founder and CEO of the aerospace corporation LunaSonde. Jeremiah was awarded the Dudley R. Herschbach Award for his 2017 Parkinson’s disease research, earning him an invitation to be a guest at the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm. Jeremiah furthered his research while interning at the internationally renowned University of Pennsylvania Shorter Lab. He is currently working on a Parkinson’s research project with the University of Arizona Zarnescu Lab.
