The BH “Echappe”: An extremely useful Barry Harris 2-5-1 move

It’s almost ridiculous to put such an academic term on BH’s teachings, but that’s how I remember it. The 6-diminished line is embellished by going up as the line goes down: hence the term “Echappe” or “Escaped note” as in the note “escapes” the direction of the line. BH uses this all over the place…
