Welcome back to our channel On Tuesday night, Gunter Nezhoda passed away. He was best known for his appearance on the blockbuster A&E reality competition series "Storage Wars." He was 67.
The actor's son, Rene Nezhoda, revealed to TMZ that his father passed away peacefully in his sleep in Salt Lake City as a result of lung cancer-related problems.
In September of 2022, Gunter was given a diagnosis, and the chemotherapy he went through resulted in several unpleasant side effects.
Rene, age 45, reported that his father's lungs had holes in them as a result of the treatment. As a result, Gunter had recently traveled to Utah in order to undergo emergency surgery. Rene's report was confirmed by Gunter.
On the other hand, Rene asserted that his father was informed by medical professionals that it was too late and that there was "nothing else they could do."
Ricky Nezhoda, who was Gunter's youngest son, was present when he passed away.
Rene revealed the news of his father's passing in an emotional video that he posted on Instagram on Wednesday. He captioned the video, "Very Sad day for the #storagewars #family #RIP #GunterNezhoda."
In the video tape, the individual can be heard saying, "My dad was diagnosed with lung cancer six months ago; he's been a smoker for the past 30 years." He's been a smoker for a considerable amount of time.
Rene then restated some of the specifics he gave TMZ about how Gunter died, but noted he wanted to produce a video because a lot of fans had “connected” with his father.
"My dad was one of the men on 'Storage Wars' who never really got any hate," he added. "Storage Wars" is an American reality television show.
"Everyone, including the cast and crew, and every single person absolutely adored being in his presence. Everyone enjoyed their time spent working with my dad.
Rene mentioned that his family had kept Gunter's battle with cancer a secret because they believed that he would "completely recover," but "unfortunately he didn't." Rene stated that it was sad that Gunter did not.
He closed by saying, "All of the love and support that you guys have given, he really appreciates that, and now maybe he's now up there in heaven dancing again with my mom."
According to his profile on IMDB, Gunter was born in Austria and resided in Germany for a period of ten years prior to relocating to Las Vegas in the year 1990.
In addition to his role on "Storage Wars," he had roles in other films and was a great musician who collaborated with the likes of Pat Travers, Leslie West, Michael Schenker, George Lynch, Kevin Dubrow, and many more. He played bass with these musicians and many others.
Gunter was also a brilliant photographer who photographed advertisements for major companies like Microsoft and Big O Tires and Ford, among others.
