If you struggle to move from "wanting" to Solo Roleplay and actually sitting down and setting aside the time to do it, it might be time for you to ask what you are hoping to get out of the experience. After all, kids don't run excitedly to the car when you tell them "we are going to that one building." They get excited when you tell them that building is the ICE CREAM STAND. So, what is your ice cream stand? Do you actually know what you want out of this? What are the stories you wish to tell?

In this harrowing two hour video, I lay out some lit theory by top Canadian Northrop Frye to see how we can use the ideas of his Narrative Modes and "Mythoi" (nerd!) to see if we can reverse engineer the game we are looking for. It's actually not a game we will come up with, but the experience you want. Once you know that, it's just a matter of finding the game(S) that are most likely to give that experience. Because that's what we're after, right?
