STORYLINE
Two convoys left Melsbroek air base near Brussels on Friday carrying the coffins of those killed in Tuesday's bus crash in the Swiss Alps.
Some of the hearses drove to Heverlee, where seven of the victims went to school.
The town also lost a teacher and a classroom assistant.
The other convoy made its way to Lommel, where 17 victims lived.
The repatriation of the bodies came on a day of national mourning in Belgium for the 28 people who died in the accident.
The tourist bus carrying 52 people crashed head-on into a wall inside a tunnel as it headed home from a ski trip in the Alps.
Swiss authorities are investigating whether the design of the tunnel contributed to the disaster.
