This video shares my continued experience using the iSteady X3 SE Gimbal Stabilizer, this time taking it outside for more real-world testing. After powering it on, it connected instantly to my phone with no need to reconnect or reset anything, which made it easy to jump right into filming.

One thing I really appreciate is how the Hohem Joy app includes built-in tutorials that walk you through different shooting angles and camera movements. Actually using those movements made the difference very clear. When filming without the gimbal, my footage looks noticeably shaky and unsteady. With the gimbal, movements are smooth and controlled, even while walking and changing angles.

The subject tracking feature is another standout. Within the app, you can select a person or object and the camera will automatically stay focused on it as you move. If the subject leaves the frame, you do need to reselect it for tracking to continue, but overall it works well and adds a lot of creative flexibility.

I’m also still loving the phone rotation feature. With just a few button presses, the phone rotates smoothly, and this can be done even while using the regular phone camera without the app. That alone makes switching between different shot styles quick and easy. The built-in tripod legs are another big plus, making it convenient to set up hands-free for filming, photos, or videos.

Seeing the difference between handheld footage and gimbal-stabilized footage really sold me on this device. The iSteady X3 SE feels easy to use, beginner-friendly, and genuinely helpful for creating smoother, more professional-looking videos, especially for anyone who struggles with shaky recordings.
