I Hate Coding… But Made My First Animation with Manim!

I never planned to learn Python or coding, but my curiosity for animation led me to Manim, a powerful tool for creating stunning mathematical and coding-based animations. In this video, I share my journey from a total beginner who hated coding to creating my very first animation.

You’ll see my installation struggles, Python + Manim setup, FFmpeg errors, and the moment when my first animation finally worked. I also share 6 essential Manim tips for beginners, including:


✅ Tip 1: Use python -m manim instead of just manim.
✅ Tip 2: Install FFmpeg early for HD renders.
✅ Tip 3: Use -pql for quick preview and -pqh for HD quality.
✅ Tip 4: Restart your IDE if things break — fixes 90% of small errors.
✅ Tip 5: Add your Manim install location in Slide Viewer settings.

To find your Manim installation path, open Command Prompt (Windows) or Terminal (Mac/Linux) and type "python -m site" (without quotation marks). Look for the line showing the “site-packages” folder — that’s where Manim is installed.

Some Useful Parameters:

-p → Automatically preview the video after rendering.
-ql → Quick render, low quality (fast).
-qh → High quality (1080p).
