We are excited to present the next session in our 2024 Lifestyle Medicine Webinar Series: "Shared Medical Appointments." This insightful session will feature Prof. John Stevens, RN, PhD, FACN, FASLM, and will be moderated by Dr. Samandika Saparamadu, President of the Sri Lankan Society of Lifestyle Medicine (SLSLM).

Shared Medical Appointments (SMAs) are a groundbreaking approach to delivering healthcare, combining patient empowerment with the principles of Lifestyle Medicine. In this session, Prof. Stevens will share his extensive expertise in implementing and facilitating SMAs to improve chronic disease management and promote well-being, particularly among First Nations communities.

Prof. John Stevens co-founded the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine in 2008 and continues to serve on its Board of Directors. With over 40 years of experience in health practice, teaching, and research, he is a leader in Lifestyle Medicine and is actively involved in the development of the World Lifestyle Medicine Organisation (WLMO).
Prof. Stevens has trained over 2,000 healthcare professionals in SMA facilitation and is currently Associate Professor and Discipline Lead for the Master of Lifestyle Medicine at Southern Cross University in Australia.
