In an explosive turn of events, Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has openly dared Kenyans, questioning why those calling for the occupation of State House, Parliament, and the Judiciary haven’t been arrested yet suggesting that in the UK or US, such individuals would already be behind bars. His remarks, made during a State House address on June 24th, have sparked outrage and suspicion, especially coming just hours before the nationwide Gen-Z–led protests demanding justice, dignity, and accountability.

While Murkomen painted Kenya’s police as “one of the most professional in Africa,” the country continues to reel from documented cases of police brutality, abductions, and extrajudicial killings targeting protestors and activists.

As if that wasn’t enough, Joy Mdivo, Board Chair of Kenya Power and a known figure in church circles,was exposed on X as allegedly being part of a secret WhatsApp group where the government and powerful individuals are plotting to infiltrate, neutralize, or suppress the ongoing protests. Mdivo has since denied the allegations, calling them defamatory and threatening legal action, but Kenyans online aren’t convinced.

This is not just a protest , it’s a revolution. A generation that’s tired of fake prayers, weaponized religion, political gaslighting, and a government that chooses power over people. As State actors panic and resort to intimidation, blackmail, and infiltration, Kenyans are demanding accountability, loudly and unapologetically.
