Описание к видео Drop test # 3: Motion capture recording of a top-down rigging operation

In 2005, we set up the stem of a Spruce tree (Picea abies) in a sports lab and recorded the kinematics of 4 rigging operations using Motion Capture technology. The matchstick man is the climber, with one marker on the helmet, one on each shoulder, ellbow and wrist as well as two on the hips, the knees and ankles. A part of the vertical stem is pictured as the box on the bottom left and the falling log is captured by the box on the top of the stem, then flying towards the right. The lines are two ends of the rigging rope (with two markers in the lead on the top and two more in the fall on the bottom) and the arborist block is located in between, marked by three points (one on the bolt, two on the axis). Furthermore, you can see the sling that attached the block on the top of the stem. The black line that appears during the course of the video is the trajectory or flight path of the center of gravity of the log.
In this drop test # 3 we cut an inverted notch (Humbolt notch) with a hinge of 1 cm thickness.
The video was recorded with the support of Prof. Schneider, Neubiberg, and his staff members. The experiment was carried out by Andreas Detter, Paul Howard and Oriol Campana in 2005.
