In 2011 my father and I fell down a mineshaft at the Minllyn Slate Mine in Wales. To get out we had to descend further underground and exit via a lower tunnel that was flooded to chest height. Once on the surface we were rescued by 22 Squadron Air Sea Rescue. The rescue was featured in an episode of the BBC series Helicopter Rescue. In this video I revisit the site and tell a bit more of the story and include the Helicopter Rescue segment at the end.
