We venture into floodplain swamps with the new Apalachicola Riverkeeper, mucking around to find the connection between tupelo trees and Apalachicola Bay. Georgia Ackerman took over as Apalachicola RIverkeeper in January of 2018. The retired Riverkeeper, Dan Tonsmeire, remains active with the organization, and joins us.

In these backwater swamps of the Apalachicola River, we look at the importance of tupelo leaves and crawfish to the estuary system.
