Durango Derby XC Stage Race.

If you follow bike racing, you surely realize that Durango is just churning out world champions currently, and after watching some of the younger generation in action, it all makes perfect sense. The cycling culture here is absolutely next-level and the local talent runs deep. What a pleasure it was to chase some of the most skilled and fit younger women in the country, absolutely crushing it in this race.

This is the second year of the Durango Derby, showcasing the unique and varied trails around town. Racers were treated to 4- 50 minute ish stages, with neutralized transfers around town, making for a 40 mile day with a few hours of hard efforts. This format is similar to enduro, just on xc tracks and the vibe is definitely on point. Jump in the train with Sarah Sturm, Deanna Mayles, Ruby Ryan, Bailey Cioppa, Will Litty, and a grom that was half my height and absolutely crushing it. The future is bright in Durango.
