/r/announcements is the most subscribed subreddit. The subreddit was created for official announcements from Reddit, Inc. on 17th of June 2009.

/r/funny is Reddits 2nd most subscribed subreddit. It’s Reddit’s largest humor depository. It was created on 25th of January 2008.

/r/gaming is a subreddit for almost anything related to games – video games, board games, card games, etc. but not sports. The subreddit was created on 17th September 2007.

It started with $100,000 in seed funding from Y Combinator. As of August 2021, the company is valued at $10 billion, following a recent funding round of $410 million. As of March 2022, Reddit ranks as the 9th-most-visited website in the world and 6th most-visited website in the U.S., according to Semrush. About 42–49.3% of its user base comes from the United States, followed by the United Kingdom at 7.9–8.2% and Canada at 5.2–7.8%. Twenty-two percent of U.S. adults aged 18 to 29 years, and 14 percent of U.S. adults aged 30 to 49 years, regularly use Reddit.
