In my youth I was (and still I am) a hifi fan and built my first hifi speakers. I was used to hear the sound everywhere in my room. My first guitar amp surprised me with its typical “beam”. I could not stand this shrill sound on axis and got tired to adjust the EQ each time, when playing gigs in different locations.

Felt half my life I tried to tame the shrill beam with foam, pads, discs, spheres or any other absorbers or deflectors. It took me years to finally stop my experiments and countless optimization-tests with so-called BEAM BLOCKING DEVICES. The physics of the technical functionality didn’t allow to spread the sound as I wanted and to get rid of the phase cancellation effects.
This is the story about 2 VERY DIFFERENT DEVICES …
