Part of the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, Germany, eight nominees competed in small clubs of the former red light district. Their aim: to win over the prominent jury consisting of David-Bowie-producer Tony Visconti, singer-songwriters Anna Ternheim and Emiliana Torrini, MTV veteran Ray Cokes, SXSW head of music James Minor and German-French soul diva Y'akoto.
