Center for Great Apes (orangutans and chimpanzee sanctuary)

The Center for Great Apes is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit sanctuary for orangutans and chimpanzees. CGA provides a permanent sanctuary for orangutans and chimpanzees who have been rescued or retired from the entertainment industry, from research, or who are no longer wanted as pets. The sanctuary provides care with dignity in a safe, healthy, and enriching environment for great apes in need of lifetime care.

This video is from 2004. Since then the sanctuary has continued to expand and rescue more great apes. As of 2023, the Center for Great Apes was home to 71 orangutans and chimpanzees.
