Osage Orange is a natural way to create vibrant yellow hues for your textile and craft projects. The wood shavings from this tree are popular in the dyer's world because of the bright color they bring to the dye pot. With an iron water soak, olive greens and earthy golds are added to your palette. This tutorial will show you how to brew osage orange dye through an exhaust extraction & shift it through an iron water modification, as well as the resulting color swatch samples (cotton & silk) with various pre-mordants and a ombre dyed organic cotton mesh bag.
