Setting retirement goals can be a challenge. Even if you think you know what you want, you might change. As a result, being too rigid with goal setting can potentially lead you down the wrong path.

Granted, some goals for retirement are critical. We want you to have enough resources (income and assets, for instance) to provide for essential needs. We also want some extra for “wants” in retirement. But when we get too specific about predicting the future, it might be problematic.
