One day of Brahma ( "that is kalp" ) lasts a thousand cycles of the four ages ("that is mahā yuga) and his night also extends for the same span of time. The wise who know this, understand the reality about day and night.

Modern man is not aware of forces and science which are needed to explain the creation of universe.

According to modern science, there are two theories:

One is the "Steady State theory", which says the universe is never born , never dies, and is always like what it is.

Next is the "Big bang theory", which says the universe began with a point of energy exploding in a "big-bang".
