Channel purpose:
“What is a nu hippie,” someone on Reddit once asked me.

The “nu-“ prefix means “modern or new; existing in a different form from the past”. You’ve probably heard this moreso with music genres like “nu disco”. And I’m sure you have an idea of what the word “hippie” entails. With the newest psychedelic renaissance there is a resurgence of the next generation of hippies — the nu hippies.

Most of us are probably nu hippies but of different variations, of which I am one. I’m a sort of blend of the past iterations. I wish to respect those who came before me — especially the indigenous people who’ve been using these substances for thousands of years — and while I do view these substances as deserving of respect and spiritual I am okay with and even promote light, recreational use. And while I’m not as totally drop out of modern society, everyone should dose acid of the counterculture of the 60s, I take with me their ideas of unity and peace. And while the scientific and medicinal approach of today’s psychedelic angle has been promising, I am wary of capitalism and for-profit corporations. But I also strive not to put psychedelics on a pedestal and not judge others for their drug use — whatever drug that may be. Psychedelics are just what I’ve had the most experience with and so that’s why this channel revolves around them. All these things, along with my own journey with psychedelics and learnings is what I hope to share with this channel.

I don’t know everything. I am still learning and growing. The deeper I delve in the psychedelic community the more I discover there is much to learn. My beliefs even within the past 2 years have changed drastically. I may say things in this channel I will redact a few months later. But I hope you can join me in this process.
